Shifting the dream is a Kansas-based carceral human rights task force. In their own words: "We dream of safer communities, healthier families, where fathers and mothers return to their children whole and unbroken, mentally well, and fit to work, and a safer workplace for corrections workers, where they are not forced to endure these same inhumane conditions, suffer violence, and turn a blind eye to corruption or lose their livelihood. We dream of a better Kansas where a man or woman willing to work to improve themselves, can."
